Self Reliance Classes are starting soon!

A new series of self-reliance courses for the Orem Utah Northridge Stake will begin February 3, 2025, 7pm, in the Northridge Stake Center Primary Room. This email is to inform you of this wonderful opportunity.

Depending on interest, five courses will be offered:

路 Finding a Better Job

路 Education for Better Work

路 Emotional Resilience

路 Personal Finances

路 Starting and Growing My Business

Detailed information about each of these courses may be found online at:

https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/self-reliance/manuals-and-videos?lang=eng

These courses run for 12 weeks (except for Emotional Resilience, which is a 10-week course) and typically meet once each week. The time and day of week is typically tailored by those who sign up for the class to find the day and time that works best for that group.

There will be a booth where you can easily sign up for and learn more about the various courses at our upcoming Stake activity January 31, 2026. More information on that activity will be forthcoming through your bishoprics. You may also sign up by click one of the following links to register for the course you wish to attend (please register for only one):

Education for Better Work – For those who need additional education or training to get a job. Group members will research, create, and present career and education plans.

Find a Better Job – Group members will learn to identify opportunities, network, present themselves professionally, and prepare for job interviews.

Finding Strength in the Lord: Emotional Resilience – This group will help you learn spiritual and practical skills to help you better care for your body, mind, emotions, and relationships.

Personal Finances – For those who want better control over their finances. Group members will learn how to eliminate debt, protect against financial hardship, and invest in the future. They will create a financial plan and follow a budget.

Starting and Growing My Business – This self-reliance group will help you learn to make wise business decisions as you start or grow a business. Members learn key business skills such as identifying customer needs, finding customers, and keeping good business records.

If you do not have a church account or do not remember how to login to it, you may sign up without a church account by clicking the signup without an account link on the signup page.

Please register before February 3.

NOTE: The times/locations for these courses are tentative. We anticipate that times and locations will be adjusted to accommodate the needs and schedules of course participants at or before the first class. If a large number of individuals register for a particular course, we will create additional groups as needed. After you have registered, you will be contacted to coordinate when and where your group will meet.

If you have questions, please reach out to Brother Scott Barton, iamscottbarton@gmail.com

We are pleased to inform you that patrons may now schedule living ordinances online for the Lindon Utah Temple.

As a reminder, individuals seeking living ordinances (own endowment or sealings) must first meet with their priesthood leaders and the priesthood leaders must complete the required steps in the Ordinance Preparation System. Once the required steps are completed the patron may schedule an appointment online. With this change, paper Living Ordinance Recommends are no longer used.

Patrons may schedule their own living ordinances online, or they may call the temple office for assistance. The temple telephone number is 801-701-3680. Temple office hours during this pre-dedication period are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The temple will be dedicated on Sunday, May 3rd, and the first operating day will be Tuesday, May 5th. Please note: Proxy ordinance scheduling will be available online beginning Monday, March 16th.

The Temple is still in need of workers who can fill Friday and Saturday shifts with a special need of brethern for Saturdays.

LINDON TEMPLE OPEN HOUSE

The Lindon Utah Temple public open house is March 12 – April 11, 2026. We welcome all members of our faith and other faiths, our neighbors and friends, and anyone curious about temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Temples are sacred buildings built to help us feel closer to God and to our Savior Jesus Christ. The open house provides a unique opportunity for the entire community to come and see this beautiful house of the Lord and experience its peaceful atmosphere and grounds.

The Temple open house will be at 850 E Center Street in Lindon, Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (excluding Sundays and Saturday, April 4). Admission is free and no reservations are required. Guided walking tours last approximately 45 minutes, with Church representatives available to answer questions. Guests should anticipate longer lines and wait times the first three days of the open house, after school hours on weekdays, and on weekends. Guests will be waiting outside, please dress appropriately for the weather.

Parking is available on-site, and elevator access to all four floors is available for those with mobility challenges. We encourage guests to carpool or walk if possible. Photography is not permitted inside the temple. During the tour, no water bottles, purses, bags, strollers, backpacks, service animals, pets, or firearms are permitted. Restrooms will be available before and after the tour. We look forward to welcoming you to this special community event. After 10:00am on media day March 9, 2026, exterior and interior photographs will be available at newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org

Each ward and stake will be asked to provide volunteers (including youth ages 11-18) to help at the open house.

Opportunities will be available in the next few weeks!
